  • Whether it’s high school, college or even kindergarten, a grad portrait captures an important stepping-stone in a child or young adult’s life. The cap and gown photograph is a good starting point for a precious keepsake. Here are some other ideas for dynamic photos to celebrate graduation.Pick your pose: Nothing ruins a portrait faster than a pose that looks as stiff as the mortarboard on top of your head. But posing for a formal portrait can be a nerve-wracking experience. A visit to the portrait studio’s website in advance of the photo shoot can help you understand what will be expected of you. It may be a good idea to make a list of poses you think might work for you and discuss them with the photographer during the portrait consultation prior to the session date.Go casual: Formal grad portraits are only one piece of the picture these days. Make sure to take a couple changes of clothes for more casual options. You may want some natural-looking shots to counter the formal cap-and-gown portrait. A favourite outfit or sports uniform are good alternatives to the cap and gown. Dress only in solid colours as bold patterns are too busy and distracting in photographs. Wear comfortable clothes that you can move around in.Take it outside: No more pencils, no more books! Grad time means academic achievement but also freedom. Head to the beach or out to a park with a photographer to capture your youthful energy and excitement for the future. Tossing that cap in the great outdoors will be a more poignant image than in the high school gym.Bring the gang: School is as much about socializing as it is about education. It’s important to recognize that a solid group of friends or a faithful best buddy has formed you as much, or more, than all those hours of study.
Organize a photo shoot with your nearest and dearest friends. Have a photographer capture behind-the-scenes preparation for commencement ceremonies or prom.
Ask for candid shots of friends interacting or goofing around to bring out the most genuine smiles to commemorate this exciting time in life.
If there’s a particularly inspirational teacher or counselor in your life, consider asking them to pose for a shot or two.Go extra-curricular: Are you a singing sensation or top-notch athlete? Organize some action shots of you participating in extra-curricular activities. Lively student council debates, basketball games or choir practice all create exciting scenarios for great grad photos. Consider creating a package for grandparents and other relatives that exemplifies all the aspects of your well-rounded life.Don’t forget the hobbies: Not everything significant in life happens at school. If you are passionate about activities like dancing, horseback riding or orienteering, include those activities in a grad photo spread.
Graduating, particularly from high school or college means big changes in life and often relocating. This can mean the end of important relationships at a favourite dance studio or stable. Capturing those environments is a great way to create lasting memories.

  • Types Of Photography Lighting

Whether capturing photos of products or shooting portraits or other images. Achieving great photos of publishable quality, does require some photographic ability whether natural or learned. Photographers often utilize photography equipment such as muslin backdrops and photo lighting kits or lighting stands to highlight the subject. Often times a back light or fill light will be employed as well to eliminate any shadowing affects in the background of the images.

Pro photographers will often choose to use flash or strobe studio lighting, when capturing images of models or families in a studio. Strobe flash lighting needs to be synchronized with the camera’s shutter timing wise to be able to capture shots at the perfect time.

Though for some photography enthusiasts, they can also choose to utilize a different type of photo lighting equipment such as continuous lighting. This type of studio lighting can be found in the form of both Halogen and Fluorescent photography equipment. They are commonly known and referred to as hot lights and are very simply to operate without the requirement of synchronization like flash lighting does. Photographers can position there light stands where they want them and simply turn on the lights and begin shooting right away.

Halogen studio lighting burns brighter and can produce a considerable amount of heat in doing so. If you use this type of continuous lighting, the heat in your home or studio will not only rise but your electric bill will rise as well. In contrast, fluroescent studio lighting requires less electricity and produces virtually no heat. They do not burn quite as brightly as what the halogen bulbs can. To counter that, photographers who want to use fluorescent for it’s coolness and energy efficiency simply choose a higher wattage lighting kit to overcome any luminosity differences in output.

The various choices for photographers with the availability of modern photography studio lighting equipment have been greatly improved in both quality and options. Photo studio lighting kits in digital form for instance, can be found in both halogen and fluorescent types of photo lighting sources.

Photography equipment is designed to enable photographers , regardless of whether they are a professional or a beginner to be able to elevate the quality of their photographic images on a consistent basis. Bringing both the craft of photography and their photos to a higher level.
